How much will it cost to get my sewing machine repaired?
It is hard to say without seeing the machine first. Even though you may be able to tell us what the symptoms are, it is hard to tell if parts will be required or if it is just an adjustment that needs to be made. We give free estimates when you bring your product into the store.
How long will it take to get my sewing machine fixed?
That depends on a number of factors. Most of the time a week or less if we don’t have to order parts. If we have to order parts it could take up to two weeks. We stock a lot of parts, but we can’t stock every part for every sewing machine brand. Also, the time of the year makes a difference. For sewing machines, the summer months are the slowest and it might take only a day or two. In the fall, after school starts, people tend to do more sewing so it can get really busy. We always try to get your repair done as quickly as possible and still do quality work. Our service techs always put quality over quantity.
Is my sewing machine worth repairing or should I just buy a new one?
Most sewing machines are worth repairing if they don’t have serious problems. It is always best to bring it in and get a professional opinion. For example, I have seen people throw away perfectly good sewing machines that a $3.00 part could have solved their problem. Also, take into consideration that older sewing machines are better quality than their counterparts today. It’s not that you can’t buy a good quality product today; it’s just that you can’t buy it for the same amount of money it will cost you to fix the old one in many cases.
